Bexwell, old RAF Downham Market - Added to Historic Buildings in East of England

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

On Karoo close there is a dead end to park in. This is the site of RAF Downham Market, Norfolk. This was a WW2 airfield that housed Lancaster bombers. It was also one of a few that had FIDO installed. This burned petrol in long troughs to burn away fog to enable planes to land. The final bombing raid of WW2 was from RAF Downham Market.
Over the road is the beautiful Bexwell St Mary the Virgin church.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 09/01/2022. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.
