Camber Castle - Added to Castles and Fortifications in South East

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

The castle was built for Henry VIII. The ruin is an unusually unaltered artillery fort designed to guard the port of Rye. Camber Castle lies between Rye and Winchelsea.

There is no vehicular access to the castle but it is a one-mile walk on public footpaths from Rye. which you should use for TOAL as the castle itself is managed by the Sussex Wildlife Trust on behalf of English Heritage who do not allow TOAL from their land.

The exterior is viewable at any time but the interior is only open by guided tour - check with Sussex Wildlife Trust.

Anywhere nearby to park do you know?

Thanks for sharing :+1:

Nice!
Great opening shot.

yeah I get a bit excited!!! I’ve attached a screen shot, I parked in the red circle and theres loads of space on that road, but there is a pay and display where the yellow arrow points too, then follow the path (red arrow)

its a 25-30 minute walk but pleasant enough.
