The towpath is a haven for walkers and cyclists and runs alongside the River Lagan from Belfast to Lisburn, a distance of around 11 miles. Although it passes through parts of the city and is close to the M1 motorway at one point it feels quiet and rural for most of the way. The main car park at Shaw's Bridge is well signposted on the A55 on the outskirts of Belfast but there are numerous other access points the whole way along the route. If you've a DJI drone it will cry at you about being in an enhanced warning zone, but it will not prevent you from flying.
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 29/07/2022. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.
