After writing this reply I literally just opened blender to try and setup a wind tunnel simulation for messing about with fixed wing airflow dynamics…
Literally this program is crazy how much is in it.
Solidworks. Being part of the Startup Program (I have a business in Plastic Fabrications) so get it free for the moment.
Design engineer by trade so have an affinity for the Industrial CAD packages.
Late to the party but I gotta say… in a couple of hours?! I am suitably impressed. Been using OpenScad for about 8yrs and I know there’s loads more it can do that I am not using it for yet. It suits my approach. I’ve also used GPT4 to generate Openscad code, it was hysterically bad at it initially, but has improved markedly recently. (The recent design I did for the solar compass, I used it to generate the circular dial text, which it did flawlessly and saved me loads of fannying arounf tbh!) I have also started with Fusion, which still largely bakes my noodle and is far too feature rich for the bits I want it to do. But it does do a lot of stuff that Openscad can’t. Is a completely different approach though… and one I’m not entirely comfortable with yet!
For a few geometrical parts - I found it quite fun tbh but not looked at it again since (I got the bits printed and they all fit
) - just need to complete the quad now…
