A trip through the Elan Valley

Some of the shots I took from the ground up in the Elan Valley in Mid-Wales earlier this week.

The trip was based around an open day at the Pen Y Garreg dam, and one of the shots below was taken from within the bowels of the dam looking back out at the flow of the water pouring down its external face

Although I’ve visited the area many times in the past, I’ve not seen all the reservoirs this full before with water cascading over the tops of the dams.

Impressive to see from the air, but its not until you get up close on the ground you get a sense of the power of the flow
