Agressive old man threating to take my drone out the sky with slingshot!

Interesting points - most people understand what a camera is and does, and may have used one themselves … but they don’t perceive users of drones as photographers, or videographers.

Interesting point about the understanding of a camera and when people are shown they are shocked as its nothing like what they think.

I too have shown people what the camera can or cant see and a lot of them are of the idea that is given to them in films that they are like them reaper drones that can spot things from miles away when in truth the camera on your drone is basically a flying smart phone camera ( in a lot of cases with the likes of the mini series drones - granted the Air / Mavic ones have proper zoom on them but dont show them that haha )

It does depend which model of drone/camera. I’ve seen what a well equipped Matrice can see .. and I was totally flabbergasted .. reading car registrations quite easily at a quarter of a mile.

But, for the run-of-the-mill hobbyist drone .. I just WISH the camera was as good as that!

Surely a slingshot in a public space is an offensive weapon

Depends on the intended use

If the intended use is to take out a drone, with the shot not being aimed at anything else and likely to land downrange at some velocity, that sounds to me as if it ticks any and all of the ‘offensive weapon’ boxes. This guy needs to be reported to the police and dealt with before he hurts sombody!

Well from videos I have seen of Russian troops with fully automatics trying to shoot drones down he had no chance anyway

That nasty old arsehole is a offensive weapon I reckon!!

It is an offence to carry it innpublic regardess, no for fishing its ok but this instance it was illegal

I’m sure it’s illegal for a slingshot to be carried by an offensive individual .. whatever its intended use. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Good to hear but I’ll bet they will take it down the community resolution route.

It’s strange laws here I’ve carried for years a PPW, but I cannot own air pistol or pellets unless police approval and FAC, Crossbows over 17, a mate would carry one under his car seat all the time :scream::face_with_peeking_eye: catapult heavily restricted outside the property :+1:

I’m with Chris on this, I would have provoked him to swing first then laid him out. :oncoming_fist::oncoming_fist::oncoming_fist::oncoming_fist::oncoming_fist:

You were averaging 300 views on your channel, you got 5k and counting on this knob maybe start being a agitator and start coining it in. :joy::joy::joy::joy:
