I was in Ambleside couple of days ago got one good day out of three.
Stunning landscape
Great pics and place for outdoor gear, restaurants/Pubs and base for the Central Fells. One of my 1st Wainright walks, the Fairfield Horseshoe, was from here.
Great pics - thanks.
Gorgeous, been there it’s lovely.
Very nice
Lovely shots from a lovely part of the world. I was there a few years ago and remember the battle for parking being particularly arduous - but that was in late summer coming out of lockdown
Good place to park is beside the town park on the Langdales road side of the one way system through the town.
I was there 1st 2nd and 3rd January had no problem with parking will be busier in the summer more than likely.
Freshers cafe by the car park entrance is highly recommended, great food & service.
What a great shot of the Langdale valley … Bowfell to the left and the Pikes with Pavey Ark to the right … wonderful !
@Footloose Met a guy on the top of Pavey Ark, saw him on our way up walking by himself. We chatted on the summit as I was eating lunch and he told me he was over 80 (can’t recall his exact age but was about 84 I think!).
