Anyone flown their drone for the view down to Knaresborough

Hi all

Just seen a TV program featuring Knaresborough… I’d like to take a photo of the view down to the river (a must apparently) I don’t need to fly my Mini 2 but don’t know if you can see the view I want from any land bases situation.

Any comments please… Don’t bother is applicable… if it is fraught with issues… legal or otherwise?

You’d be well set if you pay a visit to the castle.

wow that was quick… ink isn’t dry yet! LOL

I didn’t know there was a castle…

You don’t mean fly from there…? or take camera there perhaps

I grew up not half an hour away. Every time I go “home” I drive through Knaresborough. Despite (or maybe because of) this, I’ve never really been there as a tourist, and I’ve not personally been to the castle, much less thought about flying a drone there.

However, I can’t see any reason on Drone Scene not to fly a Mini 2 there. I’m not sure whether the walkway where that photo was taken is a part of the castle grounds but at worst it’s going to cost you £3.50 admission.

Isn’t the answer always to be prepared for both?

Edit: Of course, if it is on castle grounds they might have something to say about whether they want you operating your drone there. As a contingency, there’s Waterside below the castle escarpment, which is a public road.

Great local knowledge!

£3.50… that’s nothing by today’s standard. … I’m only 2 hours away… be a nice day out whatever happens. :+1:t2:

Thanks @Earwig

Thanks for the link @milkmanchris

There are plenty of locations to the side of the castle where handheld photos can be taken. The same applies to flying a Mini 2. The £3.50 charge for the castle is an optional visit.
