Autel Evo II 2 leak - Now not a leak!

re ODBPrice:

Reply today:

Worth remembering with the video comparison that along with multiple firmware updates for the M2P since launch, Aldryn will have also been tweaking each and everyone one of the M2P settings for over a year now to get it to where it is.

I doubt he’s spent more than an hour or two on the Evo Pro.

But still, it’s cast a doubt for sure… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Maybe i should just buy the mavic air 2,to add to my fleet instead, lol…

Rich please do let me know if you find a retailer to supply here. I’m definitely going to look at this as an addition to the fleet! I am usually in the States every 6/8 weeks but doubt I’ll get over there this year now.

Will do mate.

I’m still on the fence with this one and certainly haven’t ruled it out completely. Would be interesting to see some more comparisons.

Is that the only controller available? Looks like a bit naff.

Yeah the camera comparison video did it no favours. I suspect it could be tweaked in post though and 6k / 8k gives an awful lot of room for tweaking!

I’m sure you said something similar about the Yuneec Typhoon controller too

Probably

At least the typhoon controller looks quite substantial.

The autel looks like an old Motorolla pebble.

I still can’t un-see this now dammit.

Well that’s not going to sell any Evos, that’s for sure! :scream:

Sadly that video comparison from January isn’t for the 6K Pro camera.

Shame he didn’t compare both Evo 2 models to both Mavic 2 models.

Sure, but even the M2Z footage is miles better, which doesn’t bode well.

I can understand him comparing the smaller 8K sensor to the M2Z, sure thing.

But you’d have hoped that the 1" (and completely different) sensor in the 6K camera would have yielded far better results than the other 6K-to-M2P comparison (further up here somewhere)

Still on the fence… still holding out for something to prove it wrong :grimacing:

Evo II - User Manual.pdf (3.0 MB)

Still on the fence on this one.

The lack of NFZ and other DJI-restrictive-bullshit is seriously appealing to me.

Not owning an Mavic 2 Pro means I won’t be up/down grading either way on that front.

Still watching closely, still checking availability of the 6K Pro model with nine different (bookmarked) online retailers, still reading everything I can find on other forums (autel pilots.com), still watching countless reviews, still not ruled it out as a possible purchase…

At least Rich you are not going to see what you have missed with not owning the M2P.
Personally, I was very very disappointed at the Video quality of the Evo 2, I would almost certainly (if I had the Evo 2) be always comparing the quality with the M2P.
To be honest i was mortified at that comparison video, but, with the Evo 2 having less restrictions than it’s competition that is the only niggling doubt in my mind about keeping my hopes alive that one day, I may just splodge a bit of wonga on it !.
Further shadows have been cast this week with the release of the Mavic Air 2 , which I will almost certainly splodge out on (When, I hopefully ,finally get to go over the pond, purely to get the US version) assuming I can wait that long !. (I think not somehow!)

My research continues…

While the EVO is relatively free of NFZ-chains it’s only able to offer 2.4GHz and no 5.8GHz band.

It’s also CE/FCC aware and adjusts its power output accordingly:

  • FCC: ≤26 dBm

  • CE: ≤20 dBm

Having first hand experience of just how poor the Mavic Mini is on 2.4GHz in urban environments (right, @DTH?) I need to investigate the FCC mod options on the Autel range some more.

Unless any of you EVO 1 owners can shed any light on FCC power mods?

That’s a Roger

I couldn’t find ANYTHING on this - the user base is just too small :slightly_frowning_face:
