Been road testing

well more like standing still testing but I’m not going to argue over terminology.
Last week I bought a cheap heated gilet Chinese make off ebay. I’ve been testing it at work and out flying. I will not be freezing my tits off again whilst flying.
it runs off a power bank (the type you charge your phone with) it has three heat setting, which I would class as warm, cosy, and oooh yeah.
my power bank lasts about 2 hours on full.
the down side.
I ordered a large as I wear large mainly for length. my chest is about 40" . this is a close fit and snug but it could do with being longer, probably designed for short Chinese people. but it works great.
delivery was a bit long but that was down to crappy Yodel.
here’s a link to the one I bought, but there are other sellers.

That’s interesting?
We have just in the last couple of days been looking at the variations of these,
I suffer from Raynaud’s and need to keep my inner core temperature up, I already use heated gloves they help.
This time of year I go out looking like the abominable snowman,:rofl:
Heated boots would be good as well, then some wait training to carry all the power packs :rofl::rofl:

Sounds useful, but i want one for a 58 inch chest ! Do Chinese sizes go that big, have yet to find any Chinese garments in my chest size…!!!:rofl::rofl:

Currently Lidl have a whole range of winter stuff in this week designed for skiing but certainly useful for drone operating in the freezing cold. Got a pair of knee length thermal socks to start off with. Thermal leggings and sleeved vests etc. etc. are available as well as fur lined boots. Think boots are only women’s at moment.

I bought a pair of specialist drone gloves when I first started off with drones and used them for the first time last Sunday which was sunny but quite cold. Previously had used a light pair designed for using phones etc. outdoors having little pretend skin pads on index and thumbs. Not warm enough for current cold.

I was quite disappointed mainly because the size of the new gloves were too big. and although a comfortable fit were neither that warm and certainly clumsy for using with a smart controller or CrystalSky. They have finger ends which can fold up and if wanted press studs to hold them open so skin available for pressing screens. Sounds good but not great for arctic conditions. I have now dug out a pair of tightly fitting gel filled but very thin cycling gloves which are a very tight fit and warm. They have specialist material on finger ends for tapping and pressing things. Hopefully these will do the job better.
