I’ve personally found Ventusky more accurate. But I guess it’s what folk are comfortable with.
That’s what I’m using (above). I do find it more accurate and reliable than UAV Forecast.
Anyone flying tomorrow locally???
I’ll be out after 3.30 pm in or around Swindon.
Tis only a flesh wound it will soon heal to reveal a beautiful landscape just wait xx
I don’t think I could fly in those winds
Good evening, wearing my Cannock Chase Weather mans cap the outlook for the UK is not looking good for the next week. I don’t see any high pressure building to settle our weather down. Low pressure with a westerly airflow continues with wind gusts between 20-45 mph, force 4-8. You may be lucky and get the odd couple of hours when the wind speeds drop. Rain looks to be in bands that move through area’s followed by some drier spells.
Happy New year everyone.
I’ve just checked on Airdata and the last time I flew was the one flight of the Avata I have had on the 27th Nov, this is the longest dry spell I have had in the 2 years of flying. It looks like New Years Day may be a go fingers crossed (Yes I know I haven’t got @clinkadink sized trousers who reads weather maps backwards to everyone else )
try droneweather… looks the same as uav forecast but free for 7 days worth of look ahead… not just a few hours ahead.
not sure how good a 3, 5 or 7 day forecast really is but it’s just a guide really
I managed to get out a bit today! Didn’t capture any usable footage as I just wanted to test my flight skills in higher wind speeds (gusting up to 35mph) and happy to see it was pretty stable still! Slow progress in to wind of course (unless in sport mode).
Had I been recording, it would’ve been mostly usable provided I didn’t do any complex manoeuvres. All helps build confidence though!
so i have ummed and rrrd over last 4 years or so years finally bit the bullet and bought my first drone
dji mini 2 se …little treat for xmas and just sat looking at it in the box as way to bloody windy to take it out for first flight as a newbie
uk weather for you i guess
Hi @craneman1, an excellent choice for a first drone!
it looks as though you’re quite new here, why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself
Anyone manage to grab a few pics or videos today
Until the heavens opened up
Yup, we had a New Years Day meet up at Wigg Island in Runcorn, form 1000am until about 1230, it was bitterly ccold and the wind was biting at times, but we got out and flew, 2 new folks joined us along with 4 of the regulars… I flew my AIR3 and the AVATA, we set up 4 hoops and had some fun shooting through them in Sports mode…
I managed to get out twice! Only wandered up the hill from my place but good to be out practicing.
nope, managed out yesterday and done some panos though. But can’t stitch them together as there is too much fog in th picure with no control points!!!
I had a couple of flights with the Mavic 3 Pro. Humber Bridge, South Ferriby Cement Works and the Humber banks. Some nice patterns in the mud. A nice day after relentless rain. Some sort of bird of prey took an interest in it but kept its distance. It zoomed off when I flew towards it. I’ve noticed that since I added some reflective red tape and a red strobe on top birds are tending to keep away.
Nip out & tell them you was on the bog
