Bloody weather! ... and flyability

Hell, yeah!

:exploding_head:

Not had much rain recently, too! … as in “today”.

It moving northward, generally.

I’m up in in Cumbria for a family birthday, and my one job was to take a nice group photo. No problem, I’ve got a Hoverair for that, it’ll be great and everyone will be blown away by my cool flying camera tech…

Bloody drone will be in Gretna before I get a single shot!

So, I got the 2nd drone so my son could fly, he was so disappointed that he couldn’t get out today.

The Squeeze got fed up with me telling her ‘going flying on Tuesday’ or whatever and then not going because the weather changed; she can’t get out and I have to do her shopping, so she appreciates notice of when I’m flying. She’s Polish, and they’re pretty sensible, down-to-earth, and practical (as well as being borderline psychotic) as a rule, and has instructed me not to tell her about intended flying until the evening before, which is a much better and more sensible approach. I still keep an eye on the weather a few days ahead, but don’t make flying decisions until the last minute.

But with an anklebiter, promising to go flying on Sunday and it turns out to be a gale, I can’t see how to avoid the crushing dissappointment. Especially if it happens a few times in succession and the kid starts to lose interest or thinks you’re avoiding the issue, they’re sensitive like that…

Jeez! What have humans done to the planet!?

Looks like my old Dinky Toys toybox…

Then you had too many. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nowhere near it, I just had parents that wanted me to put my toys away now and not take my time over it, dinner’s ready/bedtime/school/going up the shops/going to the seaside/auntie Nora’s coming so the house must be tidy*, fthen complained about the mess in the box! The advantage was that, when it came time to get them out again, there was no disadvantage in not just tipping the box out…

Times change. I’ve had to take my model railway down while the landlord does some work in the room, and everthing is properly in it’s box and stacked carefully to avoid damage.

*A tidy flat still eludes me. ‘A place for everything and everything in it’s place’ is fine in a drone bag or on a model railway, but is otherwise evidence of a sick mind…
