I put it down to something less repeatable.
All that acceleration for such a brief time and then 0 acceleration in the next 0.2secs. Bird strike? 
Apollo 11 only managed 4G with all that power (OK - and carrying a bit of baggage)!

I notice the replay doesn’t show stick movement when using the motion controller. You’d think it would show an equivalent for the inputs made.

I wanted to try manual mode on the Avata, so I bound the FPV RC to it and had a bash. I found a massive field off a country track so used that. Since I was on my ebike (and I still haven’t fabricated a bracket for my hoooooge hard case), I only had the rear bike bag. And realised I forgot the spare batteries. Gutted. So I made do with the 1 battery.
I took it into the wind (SW 15mph) to about 600m from me. Tried switching to Manual mode but received a message, “No M Mode: UAV too high/far”. Searched the forums, only thing people suggest is (a) calibrate the sticks, or (b) that it may be a restricted area. The latter I can rule out. The former may be the culprit because I did see “Remote controller control stick error” a couple of times in Airdata.
Anyway, I managed to get into manual mode, but only when it was 100m or so away from me. Not sure if anyone has seen this?
By the time I made a mess of manual mode, I decided to try Atti mode (which I enabled this afternoon, mapped it to Normal mode). It works! But … my battery was low, so I thought I’d wait until tomorrow … live to fight another day and all that.
