The derelict Hackett’s hotel in Blackpool caught fire yesterday afternoon, and by this morning appears to have completely burnt out.
( Don’t worry, I waited until the Fire Service had done their work _
The interior appears to have pretty much vanished !

Certainly it seems to be a tradition around here that if a developer can’t get planning permission or the sale of a property fails to go through the building conveniently self-combusts …
Allegedly it was sold at auction a few years ago, then the buyer sold it off as individual apartments they said they were going to develop it into - then they pocketed the deposits and did a runner. That leaves ownership as a rather complex issue, with an estimated 60 individuals with an interest in it !
