Absolutely agree with you 101%
You spend in most cases a lot of cash on these flying machines to be then told by Mr Joe Blog Public Policeman or Do Gooder Mr/ Ms its my air space you can’t fly here.
I now and have done for a long time said F*** It and flown anyway.
I have spent money on every conceivable licence that you can get, Money on insurance and a qualified pilot. So im afraid my attitude is not a good one.
And although I do a massive amount of landscape video work, I will fly my drones where I want to.
I have a very strong feeling that after the new laws come into effect from 25/26 all drones will be banned anyway unless you want yo pay out mega bucks to the bods in power.
What makes you think that @Gingerbreadmedia ?
Link ?
I’ve got a nice wee home for it, can’t pay you but hey, it’ll save it from the dust ![]()
Can you post videos on here?
Yes - by uploading to YouTube and pasting the video URL here. ![]()
, I will fly my drones where I want to.
And their in lies the problem… this attitude will get all flying banned…thanks for the entitled attitude… maybe some should check the rules BEFORE purchasing expensive kit??
Pretty well explained above by the OP
Yeah your probably right in the research bit, but when you have bipolar, a good job and you dont drink, smoke, do drugs or go out parting you do stupid stuff lol not the first time ive jumped into something without thinking sure it wont be the last… i like the look of the Mavic 3 pro ![]()
Great drone.
Only issues are the weight and the noise.
Yeah i saw that i need to stay away i dont need it lol i need to keep telling myself that lol
A tad harsh, no? Who the fuck knows there are drone rules until you come accross a place like this or get stopped by the police? I didn’t!!! The manufacturers don’t tell you, and there’s hardly a “safe droning campaign” on the tv or radio. But that’s what this site is here for, to help people out with useful information instead of sneidy remarks like yours ![]()
He’s here now and willing to learn, where’s the problem?
Cheers Joe
appreciated mate… i guess you get replies like that in all groups. I love this group to be fair everyone seems on a level. Cheers again mate ![]()
To be fair to SteveM he does actually have a bit of a point. But it’s the fault of the manufacturers and not yours. Every manufacturer should be forced to put a little literature inside the box, with just the basic rules. Even better, on the outside of the box. It doesn’t need to say much, just a simple “this drone needs to registered with …before you fly”.
Yeah true mate
well im in now so onwards and upward so they say lol
May your safe landings be equal in number to your take-offs.
The cheapo drone market, especially online through Amazon and Temu but through supermarket and toy stores as well, is a bit ‘Wild West’ to say the least. One needs a degree in marketingspeak to decipher what the drone won’t do, which is arguably the most important thing to know when you are buying it and the least likely for a novice to have much of a handle on, and that’s before the various claims about what it will do, which are often exaggerated to say the least and quite likely to be outright lies, are taken into account, which I think is what Steve M was trying to get at. Many people buying drones in this way may be unaware that there are any regulations at all, or that the CAA is involved; they just want to take the kids over the park and fly the drone, and there’s nothing stopping them!
What you often get is a note in tiny print in the Chinglish user manual pointing out that it is the owner’s responsibility to find out what rules and restrictions might apply or that permission may be needed before flying, along with advice to fly safely and considerately. The packaging often stresses how easy and safe the drone is to fly (which it bloody well isn’t without gps), and points out that it has ‘safety features’ like obstacle avoidance, which in practice make the drone even harder to control properly. TEMU and the 'zon often advertise such drones as ‘kid’s’, a suitable vague and misleading, not to say mendacious, piece of marketing suggesting that they are toys, and hence creating a false impression that they are inherently safe and easy to fly.
Well im absolutely screwed, just met up with a lovely Lady to fly drones and she had a hand built drone! Wow
i need one of them lol the sound and speed is crazy to watch… Think id have to buy pre built like looks hard to do from scratch, made my Avata 2 look like it was in Slow-mo lol
