Chester, NW UK

Chester is a city in northwest England, founded as a Roman fortress in the 1st century A.D. It’s known for its extensive Roman walls made of local red sandstone. In the old city, the Rows is a shopping district distinguished by 2-level covered arcades and Tudor-style half-timber buildings. A Roman amphitheatre, with ongoing excavations, lies just outside the old city’s walls

Hope you don’t mind me asking as I’m bit of a noob and still a little anxious about where to actually take off for this tour of flight. Great footage by the way.

Hi @Stuart253, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

Thanks Stuart, if you know Chester,

The Town Hall - hand launch at the square iutside the entrance to Chester Market (The New Market)
The Cathedral - hand launch from the Cathedral Gardens St Werburgh Street, be careful as there are high obstacles on the East side nearly the hight of the tower. These are not visible from the take off point, I came very close here.
Eastgate Street - hand launch from sitting doen on the bench outside Cafe Nero.
Hope this helps.

That’s really fantastic, thanks so much for your help, really appreciated.

Surprisingly never thought of the hand take off, genius. Guess who’s going to be practicing this weekend. :+1::+1:

I use a lanyard on my RC Controller, makes it easier. I rest my drone on the palm of my left hand and use the auto take off on the RC It will just take off. To land I get it slightly in front and above, I use the auto land and when the senson kicks in lower the left stick to the max low positionand grab it underneath between my thumb and fingers. Sometimes it will just rev up, keep hold of it use the left stick to the min and it will stop. I use this as you can take off and land without a pad or a tarmac surface etc.

You’ve been incredibly helpful and I really appreciate the time you’ve taken to give me advice. I feel much more comfortable operating the drone in areas like that and your footage shows there really is nothing to worry about, it’s always that first time. By the way I forgot to mention I really liked your video. Again thanks. Regards Stuart

Thanks Stuart,

A great location to start is Flint Castle, plenty of room to practice.

Thanks, just Googled it, looks perfect. Not to far away neither (Carmarthen). Bit if a biker so will probably wait for my next mantrip in the spring and pay a visit.
