Confessions of a newbie

Good to see an update  Do yourself a favour and sell the HS175 while you can (before it gets binned) and enjoy the Mini 2 :+1:t2:Nothing against your flying but as you realise, can’t relax with the HS175 or drones in that range

@Trailblazer I have to agree the mini 2 is a pleasure to fly, and cine mode makes it very tame, ideal for beginner. Maybe I’m looking at this through inexperienced eye’s but are most decent drones as easy to control as the mini 2?

It’s like most things in life :sunglasses: technology eventually filters down the line. Higher in Mavic range you get avoidance collision :ok_hand:t3: again, comes with the " it’s ok the sensors will stop the crash " confidence :smirk: and probably more stable in wind due to larger motors.

@Trailblazer think I still have this voice in my head saying “can’t be this easy”, the last time I did any RC flying was years ago. Technology has sure moved along since then, even getting a pilots eye view through the mobile phone was not even thought about back in the days lol.

I get what your saying about easy to be overconfident, hopefully thought the technology wont take the fun away. For me being able to take off, fly around and enjoy the view, take some video and pics and land is good, and being able to do that without working up a sweat is even better  .

Can I check out FPV now  .

Whoa there cowboy :cowboy_hat_face:

It’s not :flushed: more stable… yes, have more control… yes. Don’t underestimate that you still need to keep a close eye on things  higher end drones do flatter your flying ability, ultimately making people overconfident. Not trying to put a damper on your new journey  just remember YOU are ultimately the pilot and in control. :+1:t2: enjoy

As with most things, you get what you pay for. The Mini 2 will serve you well

I’ve had an absolute mare of a time attempting to get this device in the air only managed to calibrate it once I don’t think it likes my iPhone 11 Pro Max first flight it shot off into the sky settling at about 20m before drifting away on its own (not responding to any input) eventually coming to a hover over a bowling green several hundred meters away had to wait until it fell out of the sky. To say I was disheartened was an understatement determined & undeterred I’ve since purchased what I should have got originally DJI Mini 2 which in comparison is a joy to setup & fly actually this hobby is expensive I’ve since acquired a DJI FPV just for the increased performance (bit of a speed demon :joy::rofl:) I’ve now been ordered to not purchase any more bloody drones. I’m aiming to become proficient in FPV & master manual mode fortunately I can use the simulator which to be honest I find quite difficult although the benefit is I can fly in any weather crash as many times as my poor manual flying allows without breaking anything :grinning:
