I am very happy.
My Mini 5 Pro arrived yesterday. Because it wasn’t direct from DJI I was a little concerned that it wouldn’t come with the UK1 stamp on it as it could be old stock. Luckily it did (well, more of a sticker I think).
I took it up, and did 5 separate flights on the same battery. I think I got around 38 minutes of flight time. I had already watched a review of the Plus battery and their documented 52 minutes of flight time & the reviewer said you should get around 35-40 minutes. So, I was already expecting lower, but knew that would also be the same with the standard battery (meaning you wouldn’t get the 36 minutes they say it can do), so either way I was still getting an increase in flight time.
I also only took off and landed from my hand as thought I wanted to get used to it from the first flight.
The Mini 5 Pro was lovely to fly. Felt a little smoother than the Neo 2, but not by a great deal, they are very close (am yet to try in winds as know the Mini 5 Pro will be better as it weights 301g rather than my Neo 2 that is 161g). I loved the speed, getting a little over 40 mph in Sports mode (no wind). Another thing that took me by surprise was how quite it was. Compared to the Neo 2, it was much nicer volume. When I flew around a lake last night at around 60 feet altitude, nobody looked up to see what the noise was. Nobody heard it!
My only big shock which I was expecting was the camera and how it isn’t quite as automatic as the Neo 2. I found I have to manually change some setting to make the image look nicer, but I was again aware this would happen. I’m going to buy myself a Polarized filter and keep that on for reflections as well as a protective guard for the lens. Will see how I go about learning when to use the filters, and if I buy more.

In the photo above what’s that ‘thing’ to the left of the RC2 and underneath the drone itself? I know the answer is going to be embarrassingly obvious but I’m having a blank moment.
That is a protector that goes around the camera gimble to keep it safe when not in use. It also holds down the props that are on the top and the bottom to keep everything secure.

I’m so tempted by this, though I feel like I might be best sticking with the Mini 3 Pro’s for another year, squeeze the remaining life out of them.

I was also tempted but I have Mini4 Pro along with my Air 3s and the 4 is still flying perfectly.
Maybe when the 5 Pro is superseded I might revisit it as the price will drop again at some point.
