DaVinci Resolve v20 - is out of Beta - and v20 Updates

I agree that the fastest drive is always going to be faster, however, using the thunderbolt USB is the best option for me as the render cashe sizes are too big for the system capacity thats available on my main drive and therefore at best warns you it cannot perform the render or even worse crashes the PC.

I will be upgrading my main drive to 2TB going fwd but for now it would be impossible for me to work as you suggest.

A new section in the install routines ..

Bugger!

:frowning:

My PC has slowed down to a crawl lately! Pissing me off!

There’s my problem ..

Oh dear. Not sure whats effecting mine. I only have 16gb Ram and can"t expand, but it used to be ok, when I had the free version. Now I have studio it’s so slow, I have to close it and open it again for it to move the piggin playhead!

This is after dropping down to 720p and using proxies! :exploding_head:

The studio version is one hefty lot more than the free version .. mainly the AI content. Not sure what overhead this has when not actually using an AI feature though.

I use Studio, but on 32Gb of RAM.

All very 2016, unfortunately ..

Very much liking the Shift+Spacebar tool/effect/transition/etc search added to Cut/Edit/Colour/Fairlight tabs in v20.1.

It’s been in Fusion since forever.

Took a while to sort my 7 years of tinkering with keyboard shortcuts to have it working everywhere .. but worth the effort.
No more opening the effects panel and then clicking the search at the top .. as long as you have selected the item, or position, you want the effect added .. Shift+Spacebar and type the name of the effect. #Bingo

I use my Favourites bin for my goto effects, but have used the Fusion list option too. :hugs::+1:

Yeah, favourites works .. but this works quicker and now consistent across all sections .. especially when you want an effect/transition that you know is there and haven’t used often enough to have favourited.

I’ve now removed all the favourited effects in preference for this one solution at all times.
For starters .. you don’t even need to use the mouse.

I have a question and hoping someone can help. I have just started playing with multi text (Version 20) and am finding it confusing. I have put two texts in my opening, and have independently key framed them to do different things at different times. However whatever changes I make to one transfer onto the other and there seems no way to get around this. Which then makes it pointless? How do you isolate one? I can see the padlocks but have no idea what they are for unless you keep them all locked and unlock the one you want the changes applied to?

I’m in disbelief, looked this up online and no answers. Spent over an hour locking, unlocking, ticking and unticking the different text entries, but any changes made to any keyframe affects all text entries, not just one. That can’t be right surely?

Seems simple enough to me.

Where are you making these changes?

I’m thinking you may be making these changes in the Settings tab?

These impact the WHOLE Multi-Text title, not the individual text elements.

You need to do the keyframing for the individual text elements by highlighting the one you want to change and then change in the Layout tab ..

As in this quick screen grab ..
