Definitely. I thought adding Fly to the game booster on my phone fixed it but that was only temporary, until yesterday. Everything ok for about 5 minutes then I got the black screen, first time I’ve seen that issue. Restarted app, started filming in 4K and when I went to stop recording using the controller button, realised the app was unresponsive but still showing the live video stream.
I’ve got to the point I’m reluctant to push the Mini 2 too far while I’m using 1.4.8. Must look at downgrading.
Just a question / observation but it seems all the problems I’ve seen about the fly app all seem to be with the mini 2 or I am I missing the app problems for the air 2 and air 2 s , I seen a few reports with the smart controller but again the drone was the mini 2 , I guess there are far more mini 2 users and maybe that’s it .
OK Nidge showed me the icon so I found it and,I think from memory, it may have only allowed to revert to factory but I am not sure. However it no longer appears on the app list. I’m floating about in Plymouth at the moment and not due back at home for a few days so can’t see if it auto updates on normal wifi.
Today 1.4.8 politely told me it needed to restart, similar prompt to that you get when it auto updates but it hadn’t. Then it took a dislike to the video/camera switch button on the controller, that black screened it every time.
Yes I would agree it’s a Android thing , I guess it makes sense as Apple are recommended by DJI , I’m yet to use my mini 2 on my iPad mini 5th but I guess if I want to use the mini 2 it’s the way I will have to go , shame though as the Huawei mediapad m5 lite is much better than the iPad
1.4.8/1.4.4 with my Mini 2 has freaked me out tonight.
Sunday: I took a 360 of a local park using 1.4.8 on my latest phone. During the shoot, the app crashed.
Monday: I rebuilt my old drone-only phone and installed 1.4.4.
Tonight, Tuesday: I went out with the rebuilt setup and took 2 x 360s.
I have saved the 360s from Fly to a phone folder and sync’d it to Onedrive.
One 360 is the first taken tonight.
The other 360 is one taken Sunday.
Sunday’s 360 is also on the newly built phone which, on Sunday, was at home all day having been factory reset on Saturday.
I have no idea how the **** myself or Fly have managed this.
Importing new photos from the SD card, I have the 52 components that make up 2 x 360s taken tonight.
Time for a beer.
If you have sync the fly folder to your one drive and your phones are iPhones on the same iCloud account, then you will be syncing the flyapp folder to your iCloud. So the flyapp folder is now available on both phones through iCloud sync. This could also be the case that the flyapp folder sync through the DJI login (as i presume you are using the same login details) So the “new photo” sync to the other flyapp folder via iCloud. Your one drive then sync the folder.
Sorry just to edit.
I do this with my through my NAS. So files from my iCloud account sync to one drive then I sync them to my NAS on a one way download only. So my NAS never then “loses” a photo if I delete it from me iPhone camera roll
The sync is one way, upload only to the cloud. The only thing in common is the Fly login. I’ve wiped the cache and formatted the SD card, see what happens next time I go out. I’ve also got a screenshot of the 2 360s which are timed about a minute apart but are 360s of places over 3 miles apart.
This is because the app crashed before completing the 360. So the next time you turned the app on it “finished off” the 360 stitching. Hence the creation date
The app crashed on my main phone running 1.4.8 on Sunday. The 2 360s were saved using the Fly app to my rebuilt old phone which was used for the first time tonight since 1.4.8 was released. Rebuilt from scratch before having 1.4.4 installed.
Perhaps then, the flyapp sync and it “knew” there was only a part of an incomplete pano so the next time it connected to “a” flyapp and the drone, it finished the pano off. Just as it would if it connected to the same phone/app as it was partially created with.
After toasting 1.4.8 with a few beers last night, I gave up thinking. My last thought was DJI might be monitoring what we do but that would be ludicrous …
Fly 1.4.8, Android, Samsung S10 fully up to date, doing a tracking shot with the Air2S, finished the shot. Drone would not yaw but flew as if still in the tracking profile also would not allow me to change camera mode.
Closed the app and flew the drone back in and landed it fine. Restarted app and tried the same thing and everything worked correctly.
Not so nice hand landing the bigger drone with those bigger props!!
