No the book is as I said a beginners guide. Purely functional on controls and flight.
I think they’re jesting about how poor DJI are with the release notes rather than pushing back on your book. 
Once you’ve owned a DJI drone for over a year you’ll be very familiar with DJI’s firmware and their lack of information about said firmware. 
Get used to seeing “Known issues fixed” as this is pretty much DJI’s release notes for 98% of their firmware releases.
