I’ve wondered about this too. If you buy the m5pro before Jan 26, it will no doubt have a C0 marking and if sub 250g probably no RID enabling battery. Hence a potential further 2 yrs without RID.
If the advantage of the <250g drone would no longer apply the way it does now in the UK after Jan 26, what would DJI do in terms of retrograding, if any, a legacy drone?
Like they did in the EU, you had one chance to opt out of the changes they made to the mini’s firmware to comply with the EU height limit. I wonder if they’d do something similar for the UK, ie fit a Battery plus and you have one chance to make it a UK1 drone and what then will the EU say about flying them in their member states?
What a pile of crap CAA! Mind you, It’ll be good for the UK1 drones in the UK going fwd.
Might have a mini for my EU trips and an Air 3s for the UK. RID doesn’t bother me in the slightest!
