DJI Power 500 / 1000 (portable power station) - Rumours, leaks, gossip and general discussion

Well, I just had to try it out.
And persuade my nearest and dearest we can take the hoover camping.:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Motor rated at 825 watts. Pulling 719 at idle. Then 816 when running brushes and suction.
Lounge done.
Air 3 batts from 50% to full in minutes.
Didn’t time it but very quick using SDC cable. I’ll do a proper test when ive flown and flattened the 3 batteries.
Running out of things to charge and clean.:sob:
Just bringing the power 1000 level down to 60% ish for storage

Is that a requirement of the DJI power stations, Paul?

From opening it up at 61% , bring to full charge then discharge to the same ish amount.
Now 57%

You may have misunderstood my question, I’ll rephrase it

Why are you lowering the amount of stored power before storing the unit away @October ?

Have DJI told you that you need to do this with their power stations?

Hi Ping, from the video I seen they recommended 55 % ?

Its in their maintenance section.

Interesting! Thanks Jim

Did they say why?

Ah, they did say why, post overlapped with Paul’s.

Thanks both

Just read Paul’s note , really trying to talk myself into buying one still not sure if I need or is it a want ?

I was on the fence too.
We did a lot of camping and revisited it this year. We realised we missed it.
So portable power was a real positive now, not so much in the past.
Soooooo I waited and waited.
The dji won it, due to the fast charging capabilities using SDC and USB C.
At 599 it was worth the punt. A few days later it was the same price at Drone Safe store so potentially an extra 2.5% with GADC discount.
I

Surprised it doesn’t auto-discharge down to the correct storage level … like all their other batteries. :man_shrugging:

I did contact Jackery about storage levels, and they said there was no need to bother.

Fundamentally the same tech. Strange.

Good point.
Perhaps a firmware update could solve that problem and its easy to do.

I don’t discharge my EcoFlow before storage either, hence this DJI requirement catching my eye as unusual.

I wasn’t sure if they’d just copied and pasted that bit from one of their drone battery manuals

More than likely.

Sold out in the shop ?

And dont forget your member discount

Standard practise with lithium cells Rich
If you did FPV you’d know :grinning:

Looks like DJI are following EcoFlow’s lead and are now offering expansion packs for their existing power stations:
