Hi, not sure if this is the best place for this so happy if any mods want to move it if not.

My main drone for now is a Mini 4 Pro, and with the release of the new Mavic 4 pro and the RC Pro2 controller I decided to upgrade to the new controller.

With that, I purchased a Meijia hard case from Amazon, and I’m currently working on some 3D-printed inserts for the Meijia case as well as a screen-cover.

The inserts are done, and the screen cover is in progress, but would the step files be of use to others once completed ?

I’m sure they would, that’s very kind of you to offer to share @rhencullen😃

Will do, I’m currently refining the screen cover, and need to test print it in TPU/TPE, but once that’s done (and I can figure out how to share fines and images here) I’ll make sure they are available.

Screen cover is almost done, it’s a slip on fit, which if printed in TPU/TPE seems to be just about right. It might slip off if the controller is shaken around with the cover in place, but I’m mainly using it while the controller is in the hard case (which is probably overkill).

 ![image](https://d1q8cepst0v8xp.cloudfront.net/original/3X/7/d/7d078884719604c29cdd5183e6f3f6afdae065ef.png)

Main hard case inserts are in two parts, the upper part is shaped to fit the RC Pro2, and includes some half round finger slots to help remove the controller, and cutouts for the antannae, and for any neckstrap screws.

The lower half of the case insert is shaped to fit the curves of the lower part of the case, and has a largeish space to hold any filters or the fitted neckstrap. The controller pretty much just sits on top of the inner corners of the lower insert, with the top insert making sure it doesnt move around.

I’ll try to add some pictures of the screen cover, but the case with inserts printed in TPU looks like:

Hopefully over the weekend I’ll upload the STEP files to Printables and drop a link to them in here in case anyone wants them.

Hope they are of use to some at least, let me know if there are any suggestions for refinements or modifications.

The hard case link is here:

I printed the inserts and the screen cover using a good quality translucent TPU using a Bambu-Labs A1 with a textured PEI plate and 0.4mm nozzle.

For the hard case, I went for the deeper of the two cases that Amazon sell, as it’s easier to fill space than make it.

I very much appreciate your sharing of the cover @rhencullen which you have designed. I downloaded your step files from your link above, used freecad to make the cover an stl file, and printed it on my creality ender 3 v3 plus with the hyper pla filament currently on the go.
It is a good tight fit, but will do the job perfectly.

You’re most welcome, glad to hear it’s of use - I printed it using eSun 95A TPU for my RC Pro2, which is flexible enough to make it easy to slip onto the screen, but doesn’t allow it to slip off by itself.

I also used TPU for the case inserts - I could have taken a lot longer modelling the inserts to make them look prettier, but I was more interested in function over form and they work perfectly so I decided against the time to make the fit any more snug.

Just working on some metal Flyer/Operator ID cards at the moment, to be etched on Matte black credit card sized aluminium or stainless plates using the Bambu H2D laser - they are more or less done, including the Flyer and Operator IDs, along with a QR code link to the CAA site to verify the details, but I need to double check all of the wording against the current regulations.

I might upload some pics once I’m happy with them.

I did something similar recently, but just in plastic.

> This is a simple customizable business card. Use the customizer for your own text or download and open in OpenSCAD. The SCAD file should be pretty self explanatory. When changing color you can print this instead of letting a lot of material flow...

The font used is good because it enables “o” and other letters with holes in to print correctly. I have hand controls in my car and I made a label for the steering column adjustment lever, stating “Do not adjust”, but the inner holes stayed on the print bed!
Solved with sticky tape, but the recent hot weather warped it.

Next item for my mavic 4 is battery terminal protectors. Haven’t found anything suitable, so I’ll make uo my own cover.

Seems that just about every DJI battery has some form of printable protective case except the Mavic 4 batteries at the moment.

Maybe I’ll graduate to a Mavic 4 in time, but I’d like to get the A2CofC under my belt first, and at the moment although I’ve paid for it and have access to the course, I’m just far too busy with other work and personal projects to be able to log the time to study it all.

Maybe I’ll get more time to both study the course, and to fly the Mini Pro4 over the winter holidays but the workload from August through to mid December is just too manic.
