Most of the time… there are some exceptions though, such as the DJI Mavic Mini (the original v1) which has different physical radio chipsets.
I’d probably agree.
A smart controller (of any sorts) has a huge advance as its extremely convenient as you can just rock up and fly.
But… a stand-alone tablet also means you’re not tied to one brand. You can use that tablet with 101 other makes of drone, not just DJI. You’re also not limited to a handful of compatible models, again both Autel and DJI really cocked this one up by not making their “things” compatible with their own other things.
Built in obsolescence at its finest. They’re not daft eh?
Not sure if this should be in this thread or a new thread for firmware updates …
Overview:
Release Date: 2022.06.16
Remote Controller Firmware: v03.01.0800
DJI Fly App: v1.6.6
What’s New?
Fixed some minor bugs for DJI RC Pro
Notes:
•This version contains important updates. It is recommended to update the remote controller.
•If the update fails, restart DJI RC Pro, and use DJI Fly or DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) to retry.
Given that this controller uses ocusync 3 and is unlikely to be useable for older drones, I was thinking of getting the Mini3 with the new controller but as this is also ocu 3 is there any likelihood of the controller being compatible with the Air 2 through a software update that was talked about ?
I very much doubt either will ever be able to be used on anything that’s not oct 3 . I have and am thinking of going RC pro for my air2s but sadly it’s not going to work with my mini 2 . I’m still not convinced the the mini 3 pro as it has very poor signal ,
