DJI Studio - questions, answers, tips and feature updates

1.1.36 has been released (Mac at least)

Da Vinci Resolve will play a clip in reverse. Free version is available…

Not a big fan of DVR, I’ll hang fire for the FCP plugin for full keyframing of the native 360 files

Can we not already edit 360 video in FCP? :man_shrugging:t2:

Don’t have a 360 camera myself yet :joy: But found this video interesting…

…Might be useful to somebody :eyes::man_shrugging:t2:

To a fashion yes, but you have to export out of Studio first

In FCP (currently) you then add keyframes and sort the movement between the clips, however there is no way to adjust the movements between the keypoints, its just a linear movement (no ease in/out fast or slow options without adding 00’s of keypoints)

I’m sure the full plugin will come soon, Insta Studio have one :person_shrugging:

So it seems you can’t mix non 360 files and 360 files into a project on Studio :frowning:

I did and it will not export a pano video, unless I missed a trick or something.

Also seems you can’t export a pano video directly out of Davinci as it strips the 360 meta data from the file - you have to use an application thats in GitHub to add that data back - not had a play with that just yet but will give it a go at some point.

So for now no flashy start / end cards on a pano video.

Another thing I have just noticed is if you put transitions / effects, such as orbits or the swipe left or astros into your project and you export it as a pano video they are removed :frowning:

Need to have a play with the easy acro modes to see if they are persevered in the edit

Negative I’m afraid, I’m going to have a play with FCP later see if that does

ugh ! I get why it would not be so as to give the viewer the control over the camera and not the edit but still would be cool to just throw in a loop / roll etc in, maybe its just too complicated to know what way that roll would be as in on direction it would be a roll but if you turned left it would become a loop I guess

Ugh indeed

I have just tried with a short clip in FCP and done a quick geek around Reddit.

Keyframes are purley for 2D ‘normal video’

Bugger

So I guess the only thing to do is to have two versions of the video - a keyframed tiny planet version for you Chris and the 360 ver for the rest of us

question for the 360 crew
Are you able to zoom in on a POI while editing and if so does it effect RES etc

Yes you can, but remembering that the resolution of the camera is only 4k, you are biting into that, I’ll put something up later for you Drew

Ta my mate I might have to go down this route for fly throughs :roll_eyes:more expense

Quick nasty poi roound me and the car, original clip is first, then the same after the transition with lots of zoom applied (all in studio)

Thanks mate :+1:
Thought it might go Minecraft

Another update

Not seen anything new as of yet

Just about every time I launch this app at the moment there is an update - seems they are trying hard to build an editing platform that is as good as the products that make the content to be edited with this application.

Now if they could find a way for me to have every day off and the weather to go with it it that would be great -mmm think there is an app for that — national lottery haha

Getting closer to Insta’s offering, but not there yet.

One thing I have just noticed is that exporting a still is now size limited 7776 x 3888

Its was 15520 x 7760
