Dog Friends

Personally Dave I wouldn’t give any dog a rawhide chew. There are some real downsides particularly with a breed such as your own which is prone to bloat. Hide chews have very questionable digestive qualities which can cause blockages.

Knowing you I assume you’ve done your research on this subject but just in case you weren’t aware I thought I’d better mention it - better safe than sorry :+1:

Yup.

I did check with the vet, and they were of the opinion that intermittently having one wasn’t an issue. But monitor the poo.

I do limit it. After last evening I’ll be hiding it for a few days. (.. or until I need some peace and quiet .. so ..)

No apparent issues with digestive system following an evening session. As modern dog owners, we’d soon now about that on the next walk!

IMO .. any risks to her are outweighed be her having two hours of delight .. and of course I get that two hours of peace and quiet.

Now, “goats ears” …

  • a. They stink, and
  • b. They upset her tummy.

.. so not again. (Mind, she was a lot younger when she had those .. but they stink, so ..)
