Do you fly a drone? Today via social media we became aware of a drone flown directly under our main runway approach within our Flight Restricted Zone.
We’d like to reach out to remind users of the important requirement to submit a request for permission to fly within this area shown here.
In the last 12 months we have granted 114 permissions and will always aim to accommodate requests where it can be done so without endangering the safety of aircraft.

I don’t know what triggered this particular issue, but I accidentally flew within the Barton FRZ before I knew the difference between the DJI no-fly zones and the legal FRZ. Judging from the comments on Facebook that’s a common rookie error. And there are also people who think their Mini is somehow exempt.
