Good reply. The other thing is except helicopters, manned aircraft don’t often fall straight down from the sky. Helicopter crashes are very rare, drone crashes due to becoming more popular, i think are becoming more frequent

Microlights are NOT allowed to fly over villages or towns. The fact that some do are not legal.

I also seem to recall Exeter airport used to (and may still do) have restrictions on light singles approaching from the west, they had to treat the runway as starting about halfway along it’s length and turn base/final accordingly to prevent them from flying over the city.

You’ll also find single engine helicopters are restricted from flying over urban areas, hence the police/air ambulance always use twins.

If that’s not Rule 5 where is it under? Wasn’t aware of anything in Rules of the Air Regulations 2015.
