Heavy fine - too bad. That sort of drone pilot (ignorant, arrogant, uninformed, lazy, belligerent) is very much part of the problem responsible hobbyists have. No idea what he was flying or how low or for how long but I have no sympathy whatsoever. The press report says ‘little known rule…blah blah’ - total crap - it’s well known but this idiot couldn’t be bothered to check. Probably drives a car on a provisional licence without insurance on cloned plates too (and has a 70mph e-scooter too) ---

What fine? Typical online newspaper click bait bollocks. Drone confiscated and referred to Spain’s aviation authority. Up to £200K fine but according to the article, not been fined yet. ---

Same thing, fundamentally. AESA is the Spanish acronym that has the letters in the order that matches their language. Like for the EU (in most countries), but UE in at least France and Spain. ---

Ive heard Spain and France are a nightmare for drones. Im off to Fuertaventura in October but dont know if I want to take my drone. ---

“ Spanish drone laws are strict, and violations are taken seriously. Fines range from: - €60 (£52) to €45k (39k) for minor infractions (e.g., flying without insurance), - €45,001 (£39k) to €90k (£78k) for serious offences (e.g., flying in restricted areas), - €90,001 (£78k) to €225,000 (£195k) for very serious breaches (e.g., endangering people or interfering with airspace).” I’d say he’s bang to rights for the first two levels, also the top level if they wanted to push it. Either way, one idiot just had a rather expensive holiday! ---

Hi All Club Members, Yes after Reading all Comments on This so Called Drone Pilot A Title that he does not Deserve ?, Ignorant, Arrogant Stupidity , Reflecting on The Hobby / Sport and Not an Ambassador for UK and other Countries to Say the Least , When I Started the Hobby I was Fascinated This Little Tiny Drone being DJI Mini Pro 3 And after Having coming from a Back Ground RC Modelling ,Flying Piper cubs to Spitfires Low / High Wing to Jet F16 / Concorde The Principles of Flight ,( Sorry I differed away there ) Drone Flying , Study The Basic Guidelines Rules also Watching YouTube Video’s with like of Professionals Drone Pilot’s Like Ian in London / NobbyGreen / Irish Chap and more , The do s and Don’t and The Paramount Important s Public / Full Size and Being in Control of your Aircraft ,Play by The Rules , As I always say The Leaning Curve, Practice Practice Practice , The Next Level CAA A2 Study and Take Exam and then EASA European, and Insurance , with Full Belt and Braces and Now off to Spain ES, Feeling Confident if I was Encounter Approached The Police / Guardia Civil Flying A Drone 250 gram at Least I Had a Valid License Road Tax / Mot Insurance and Maybe Plead Sorry I think I was Breaking Any Rules, But This Did Not Happen I Flew low Key 🗝 and Using Commonsense which is not Difficult to do ,and Lastly We Fly to Promote The Hobby , Also The English are Not Like There Partly due to Football Hooligans’ Attitude / lager Louts Culture, Which is Sad and we are Tarred with Same Brush sadly , Well Fly to Promote The Hobby and Sport , Regards Yorky , Alex , North London UK DJI Mini Pro 4 DragonFly and Baby Neo Nymph ---
