I just started with drones the past week. Today I crashed into a big tree like 15 meters in colchester, and the drone is stuck. I already tried to throw a bottle with a cord on it but I couldn’t reach the top of the tree.
Do you know if hiring a tree surgeon can be a good solution here or does anybody nearby has equipment to retrieve it?

I’m a little too far away to assist, however I wish you good luck in your quest to rescue your drone.
I’ve used a tree surgeon in the past with success but these days they come at a hefty price so it depends on how valuable the quad is to you
Post some details:
Longitude and latitude of the tree
Height
Photos showing the position in the tree
Let’s see if it’s designed for my ‘rescue kit’
some spectacular drone recoveries are possible…involving heavy bolts, string, cotton thread, a vertical view camera and another drone. Pics are required of the tree, surroundings and drone location within the tree.

Thats not much of a tree , if you can’t get a kid to climb it then a good set of ladders should get you within poking distance

A couple of washing line props, taped together with Gaffer Tape, should sort that

I called a tree service. They had to cut down the top part of the tree.
I have the drone now, the battery shows 0 V it was connected during two days. What’s the procedure? Try the drone with a new battery? Dispose of that lipo?
That really shouldn’t have been necessary.
Have you tried charging the battery? If it doesn’t take a charge then a new battery may be worthwhile (depending on cost). There is a possibility of reviving dead batteries but it’s somewhat technical and involves soldering and electronics and other tricky stuff.
We still don’t know what make and model of drone it is!
If you disclose the drone details you may well find that someone reading this and local to you has the right kind of battery for you to try.
Glad you got it back sometimes you just got to do whatever it takes.
go get some ego piping & joints from B&Q , 4 x 3mtr lengths should get it dislodged
It would be helpful to know what drone it is. So one can assist in finding why it went into the tree. Also whether it’s worth spending money to get it back. If it was not expensive then may not be worth retrieving it, but if is a new MAVIC Air Pro etc then yes. I lost a mini2 once and had to write it off as it was completely inaccessible.
