I managed to improve VTX signal reception on my Eachine EV800DM goggles. But not quite in the way how I initially intended.
I thought I had done my research, when ordering 2 antennas to replace the stock ones. I ordered a Foxeer lollipop and Aomway high gain patch. Unfortunately I ordered both as RHCPs l whilst the whoop has linear. Doh!
After some experimenting and research, I changed the output wattage from 25 to 100 mW, kept the stock circular, but replaced the stock patch with the (polarised) Aomway. I just tested it out in the garden and noticed a tangible improvement.
I might try out a Viper linear patch in place of the Aomway, which works, but must lose me some signal due to it being a non linear antenna. I’m just not sure if more investment into what basically is a cheap set of entry level goggles is worth it.
As you can probably tell, I’m still new to this analog malarkey, but happy to learn.
