Would a drone reach 16000 feet?
The pilots saw the âblack and cylindricalâ device heading towards them as they flew at 400mph about 20 miles west of Dover.
This is complete tosh.
No-one would be able to even glimpse a drone passing you by less than 10 feet away from whilst travelling 400 mph. Youâd hard pushed to do that at 70 mph! Notwithstanding, it would pass you by SO FAST that you wouldnât know whether it was a drone or a bird.
The media are just desperate for another âdrone near missâ story.
If you take a look at this video, which shows some nutter doing 250 mph on the Autobahn, and look at the bollards on the right of the road which are 3 times further away that the drone was, substantially bigger than a drone, plus the plane was travelling 60% faster still.
TL;DR ⌠it would be impossible to identify a drone at that distance and speed.
Sorry got to call bull on this story. . . .
I donât want to put anyone off flying but has been known for pilots flying under the influence drink & or drugs !
What a load of steaming horseshit
John Dodds used to do 200+ mph regularly on the Autobahns in the 70âs in his Merlin engined âBeastâ!
It was also supposed to be at 16000 feet, was it hanging off a weather balloon.
More likely to be an owl carrying a hobby horse
Hands up anybody who has ever seen a âblack and cylindricalâ drone before?
I stand corrected Sir Chris!
not me
