Yeah that’s normal, Paypal said pending for me too.
So its not really Ebay doing this, its PayPal.
So the buyer would have paid you to your PayPal, did u get a notification from eBay that the buyer has paid you? cos that’s normally the first step before eBay notifies you to post the product.
The only email i had was as above
Did you accept the payment via a direct message from the buyer to avoid ebay fees?
Did you accept a gift payment from the buyer? ( gift has no protection )
All messaging was done through ebay to request pay request for payment

There is legal protection if its in the uk. If it was an overseas exchange then you would be utterly screwed but you are protected.
