First decent session. ^_^

I’ve been hoping for a session like this for months. Yes, I crashed a lot and came home with two busted quads that need fixing up, but I finally thoroughly enjoyed myself. Shame I only got 40 seconds out of the brilliant new VTX on the Naz but even the somewhat flaky Croc was useable. Any thoughts I may have had of giving up are a distant memory.

Yeah, Videos by Racing Quad, that’s what I meant.
Cheers, @DeanoG60, it’s been a long day. :beers:

Nice one Jez :+1:t2: Love the homage to Airwolf although I dont remember Airwolf falling out the sky as much as us  Great to see that getting decent vision has boosted your confidence, makes the world off difference actually being able to see doesn’t it

Great stuff. Some nice low level flying through those trees! Glad you got those VTX issues sorted!

A great location… Feel like sharing?

To be honest, I’m very tempted to throw one of those TheFPV Chaos Mini VTXs in the Croc as well, because for a “long-range” quad it’s still breaking up badly at around the 50-60m mark, even in clear space.

I confess I’m a bit reticent given that it’s a farmer’s field with no real direct public access, hence my blocking out the LAT/LON. Not that I’ve ever had an issue with being there in the last 40+ years, nor do I expect it to be descended upon by hordes of rowdy FPVers should I disclose the location. Probably just being over-cautious.

Great video Jez. I really enjoyed my day out yesterday. Not got time to edit up the vids properly, but just uploading the raw (basic cut) version at the moment, and will share.

Do enjoy your choice of music with yours from the other week and this one!

And yeah always something to fix when we get home… hah!

I understand completely…

There’s the thing, though. If I’d just had a portable soldering iron and a bit of heat shrink in my box, my Naz would’ve been back in business, rather than sidelined for the weekend after just 40 seconds.

Spare arms and screws for the Croc would’ve helped, too, but I was travelling light.

That looked like a lot of fun! :grinning:

I’ve had a couple of those. They’re ok, nothing special though. If I wanted a budget vtx I’d get an Eachine TX805 - I use a couple of those on wings and they’re pretty solid and reliable for about £12. Although I’d probably spend £25 and get a TBS Unify Pro 32 Nano and be done with it. I know it’s twice the price but it’s pretty much as good as you’re going to get on analogue without going to to the larger VTXs that put out silly power.

I was flying 200+ metres out through pretty dense wooded area yesterday, 20cm off the ground, and the signal was fine

Make sure it’s the “32” and not the non-“32” version… my god that was crap… it’s one of the few working FPV items I chucked in the bin.

Hi @Earwig looks like you had to much fun !!! where were you? …like the crashes makes you look human…LOL. Jon& Denise :man_mage: :owl:

Not here, obviously, because it’s NT property and that would be naughty, but not terribly far away. (I actually had a summer job here many years ago, with a bin bag and litter-picker.)

There must be similar landscapes in the Derbyshire Dales, the trick is finding them. Harborough would be quite similar if it could muster a few trees.

Yeah a place with a few trees would be quite nice. Somewhere with not much underbrush… I’m still looking.

I’ve just noticed that this is only 10 min from our head office at Kiln Farm, which we will be expected to be visiting more frequently, “imminently”.
