Flying at East Midlands Airport!

Got 2 nights in Murcia and one in Alicante on the return of our trip. Flying out of EMA so thats kinda cool too - to be honest its our fav airport to fly from and being able to work there too is a bit of a bonus

These were all airside in April last year - the highlight for me was pushing back the plane to the taxiway in a tug - the power !

If only the sky had been like that today.

Shhh - Are you allowed to say you moved the plane?

I read yesterday about the security trainer at BHX who was caught issuing fake security documents. So yep, stick with flying out of East Mids.

Are taking your neo to Spain? I think they have tricky rules to overcome.

Nope not taking any drones to Spain - generally don’t ever plan to take drones with on any holiday outside of the UK as its not fair on the other half and there is just too much other stuff to do and see and we are generally in a city too so a bit pointless on most accounts.

Cheers, I’ll look now.
Did I see you there scouting around? Someone was at the viewing area, then when I left he was parked up at a gate into Donington.

I notice that there are currently 3 Flight Reports that overlap, on Wed 14th.

Any idea if ATC will limit the number of drones flying at any one time, if using a similar TOAL location?

Ian, one of them is mine mate.

I don’t think they will limit the number of people as they will be of the mindset that the drone code will ensure safe operation in that area and it will also be likely that the pilots will be the same sort of area so they can coordinate with each other. :man_shrugging:

And they could use the opportunity to use their drone surveillance equipment perhaps?

Oh they will be doing that. It’s why you have to ring before you even turn any equipment on as they will get a ping when you do. And with the serial numbers of controller and drone they will know for sure who’s who around. It’s when the once that have not applied for a permit ping that things will get interesting.

Ian. Just had a look at the planed flights and mmm for some reason mine are not listed as active for some reason, even though they are in the flight report list

Pete @LE60LAD I can see your three flights for 14th on the map in amoungst these other reports:

If it helps, while your Flight Reports section maintains a list of your planned flights throughout the year, the Drone Scene map only shows flights starting within the next 7 days so the map stays uncluttered and allows people to focus on airspace events in the near future, rather than those taking place much later in the year. They’ll automatically appear on the map nearer to the start time.
