Flying at Hengistbury Head

Was up Hengistbury Head walking dog other day and got talking to warden park ranger whatever they want to call them selves now. There was a drone up and i commented to him on what a nice hobby that must be. There the lecture began i knew what the rules are for flying there but was testing the water with him as supposedly somebody that knew nothing. Well no flying strictly prohibited under by laws and now looking to crack down on anybody caught and looking to stop flying in other places (due to people not following the rules) as he said its easier to blanket ban than just various places that you could possibly plead ignorance. I gave him my email add and he did forward some info onto me about rules and regs there.

So some people that think its ok to do it could cost us all other places that we fly localy

Did you bump in to @SkyJumper ?

I dont know who it was up there i was just walking dog but ranger bloke wasn’t impressed said they are logging when ever they see anything with pictures if possible. I know its a nice place up there and would love to fly there BUT the rules say i cant HMMMMMMM

I think its more the local council. I really dont find this funny its hard enough to find places to fly legally somebody on holiday sneaks a few pic ok but for somebody to keep going to a place where flying is prohibited is asking for trouble for all local flyers here in the area then we will be banned from all the local parks and the few places we can fly from locally

So what’s the plan mate?

Just looked at the map, loads of places to take off and land that would never get seen.

I’d fly there.

Someone in the area mentioned they have a boat …. so we boat launch hundreds (appx number) of drones from right by the headland and swarm the place …. and there’s NOTHING they can do about it. :+1:
