Hello @robwakefield99. Sorry to hear about the tractor issue. Hope it wasn’t too serious. You make a good point about the possibility of others traipsing over the land of your farmer friend having seen you there and not on a ROW. I have thought about another possibility as well. It is possible that anyone as fortunate as you could earn a black mark by repeatedly flying over nearby villages, individual houses, etc. In the final analysis we just have to double think about what we are doing.
Thank you for that @macspite. For my sins I had not realised that there was to be any future EU legislation planned for June of next year. Always assuming of course (presumably) that will only happen if we are still members ? But let’s not go there shall we
Its a lng read but basically from next July there is no distinction between paid and unpaid flying in the open category. When flying in more hazardous areas permissions may need to be obtained and proof of competency given.
And no, we will not engage in dialogue regarding our potential departure from the EU, I am already on heavy medication for blood pressure …
Thanks again @macspite. That all sound a bit ominous to me. With regard to the “B” word all I can say is thank Heavens for the fast forward button.
I am heavely involved with cars and bikes and the new EU speed limiting rule from 2021 means the cars will be limited to the speed limit (boring and dangerous) when the car hits a slower zone it will automaticly apply the brakes, we found this out last year and some cars are already fitted with it Volvo are 1, we were having a debate over leaving the EU etc (who has not we have had plenty of time to !) and we found out that even if we were to leave it would still be coming into force…why ? because we would still shadow all EU rules so would we still be getting these new rules anyway ?
The whole of Europe is so so mixed up right now and its only gonna get worse…sorry to be negative !
