Try telling John Swinney, Scotland’s First Minister that ( with a straight face) 
A spotter isn’t there to look at the drone itself - he’s there to survey the airspace around the drone for conflicts.
As such, not knowing exactly which direction a pilot is about to fly doesn’t matter.
