Dear fellow FPV pilots, you guys rock!
Here is my suggested next challenge, growing a bit from the previous one, but not going full out yet!

THE EIGHT-BALL
I would like you to have two objects (trees / poles or similar) spaced from each other 5-15m, away from people. The challenge is to fly ACRO smoothly around the two objects creating at least 3 figure of eight in a row. The key part of the challenge is throttle control - make sure that you go as fast as you feel comfortable with, but remain as much parallel (and therefore constant altitude) to the ground as possible - between 30cm and 4-5 meters max.
BONUS POINTS: on who manages to turn around the objects facing the sky (once or more), instead of the ground (!)
DURATION: one month, at the discretion of the committee.
Other Rules - same as Orbit your POI
Enjoy!

Thank you @ORB_FPV
We shall get this set up today !

Very quick question - does a Neo have Acro mode?

yes it does - but you need the FPV controller 3 and compatible goggles for it. You also have to do a “mod” to the throttle stick on the controller so that the spring has no tension on it. ( loads of YouTube vids about that ) once done you will have Normal - Sports and Manual Mode ( normal and sports will be like flying any other drone really )

Thanks @LE60LAD . My Neo arrives today but the controller and goggles will be at the end of the week.
Ill be using my RC2 until then.

No manual then :worried:

Not for a few days. Gives me time to 3d print some spare protective bumpers though. I’m sure that I will need them.

As per @milkmanchris response, you’ll not be able to fly manual with the RC2.

You’ll need the FPV Remote 3.

Ideally to be done in acro/manual mode if possible but not a necessity.

After rereading the rules, it’s not necessary to be completed in manual / acro, so you can use the RC2 or motion controller to fly the challenge

Thats great news because I do have the motion controller.
However, the total time that I have flown using my new goggles and motion controller is minimal, so I’m using this challenge as the steepest learning curve ever. Should make for some funny videos anyway.
Someone has to come last don’t they?
I’m looking forward to doing this now.

Here’s the new challenge if you’ve not seen it or want to take a butchers The 8 Ball :+1:

I’ll be giving it a go for sure, even though there is a very good chance I suck at it.
