GADC Pilots' Calendar Competition - November - Vote for the Winner

Short days, bad weather and a reduced time to get your images in. Who said everything had to be easy?

Your images of November please, to complete our12 months of pictures we began last December …

GADC Pilots’ Calendar Competition - Rules

Note that the competition ends on Saturday November 18th in order to try and get the winning pictures printed as a calendar and orders in and distributed by the ned of the year!

The requirement is to submit a still image in landscape format that illustrates the month in the competition title. The competition is open from 00:01 November 1st to 22:00 Saturday November 18th; images must be captured and posted within that time period

The image must obviously be taken by a drone in flight, images that the committee consider do not meet this criterion may not be entered into the poll for the winners. That means images noticeably higher than a normal person’s eyeline, please.

Editing is confined to colour and exposure adjustments and crop only. There must be no removal or pasting of an object.

You can create as many images as you wish and submit them in separate posts in this thread. However, only one image of any one subject will be accepted for judging. If you are making multiple entries please indicate which one you wish to be your competition entry before the end of the month otherwise the last image you have posted will be used. Basically, if you have a selection of images illustrating the subject, have the courage of your convictions, exercise your editorial judgement and post only the one that you think is best

Images must be posted with the following information as a minimum:

Time and date
Aircraft/camera used
Feel free to add any further information that you think will be of interest

Images will be judged by the members of GADC who may vote for a single image by means of an anonymous poll open for two days after the close of entries.

Voting in the poll is open to all GADC members, whether they have entered the competition or not.

You may vote for only one of the entries. DO NOT vote for your own, you may be excluded from entering the competition again,

In the event of a tie a second, single-choice poll for the disputed images only, open for 24 hours and open to all will decide the winner

Further information or the original media may be requested by the judges in case of a dispute.

Entrants are encouraged to add their images to Drone Scene if the flight will be of interest to other pilots. Accompanying notes regarding the TOAL point, access and parking plus any further local information will be appreciated.

Have Fun! Be Safe!

**All flights are the sole responsibility of the individual conducting them. Each competitor must abide by the drone code and adhere to the limitations and restrictions imposed upon them by aviation law, the aircraft being used and the qualifications they hold. Landowners’ wishes and permissions must be respected and adhered to. If a flight is undertaken in a restricted zone proof of permission having been granted is required.

The committee reserve the right to modify these rules at any time and for any reason

Let me guess, there could be some fireworks /bonfires that crop up in the image selection this month. Just a hunch🤣

Yep, a lot of entries will be posted on Sunday/ Monday morning :joy::joy::joy:

Remember, remember the 5th of November…well this was the 4th

Drone DJI Air 2S
time 18;38
date 041123
location Skelmersdale, Lancs

Wasn’t easy gettin this shot in between all that blinking rain over the weekend, needless to say the Air 2S got a couple of showers.

I must of taken around 100 shots, some were in focus but too far away some were out of focus and too close. Catching the burst was the hardest.

After all that this was my very first shot

Nice one Ady :+1:

Cheers John👍.

If your interested in Wainwrights these are the ones in view and in case your wondering I’ve done most of them.

We realise that the weather is against us but so is time if we are to get calendars printed and mailed before 2024. So a compromise to try and get some more participation:

Nice shot and a very deceptive perspective, my mind is fighting itself if the foreground is a grass covered dam wall or a field.

Taken on the 24th November, at 3pm.
Woods between Fleet and Crookham Village, North East Hampshire.

DJI Mini 2.
SS: 1/160 sec, @f/2.8, ISO : 100, AEB: height : ~40m

Great colours from the low sun, which was great to see again.

Nice and simple. One vote to pick the winner. The poll closes at 22:00 on Monday November 27th.

The last image for our calendar has been selected by the members. And we have a slight problem

Congratulations to @Leylo1971 - Ady - for his picture of fireworks

Ady already has two images selected for the calendar and the rules state:

Ideally each month will be illustrated by a different photographer; we know from the RTF that some names seem to crop up in the winners circle more than others. So we will allow a maximum of two winning images over the year from any one person.

So, we are asking Ady via DM to drop one of the images and we will select the second-place winner for that month as a substitute.

Watch this space

Many thanks to all who voted ,well appreciated :+1: And congrats to all the other entrants.

It was a pain in the ass trying to get that shot, but seems like it was worth it.

Thanks again :+1:

Thanks to Ady for agreeing to discard one of his three winning pictures for the calendar to give someone else a chance at fame and glory.

And that “someone else” is Richard - @Kirky - with his picture of a permanent Remembrance at Purfleet

Ah really, ok
Thank you very much & I am very grateful, sorry it’s not the winner & or what won all the votes but thank you, @Leylo1971 ady thank you !
