Greetings from Manchester

Hi there, pretty new to the drone scene.

Have been in to photography for years and looking to make the jump to drones for the last 12 months.

Was holding out to see if they launched the Mavic 3, but never had much patience and after watching hours of YouTube couldn’t wait any longer.

Got myself registered and looking forward to taking the Mavic 2 for a spin this weekend.

Welcome to GADC

Enjoy the Mavic 2!

Hi Martin and welcome to GADC.

Thanks for the welcome :+1:

Thanks, batteries on charge just hoping for a change in the weather :sunglasses:

Where abouts in Manchester @MartinJacksonUK?

There’s a whole host of us in the north west - hope to see you at a future meet (post-COVID) atop Winter Hill or similar

Not far from Heaton Park, but know the areas round Shaw, Rochdale and Oldham very well, up on them ills

I need to earn my wings and get some practice in. Been scouting for some quite spots. Any recommendations appreciated.

Fingers crossed things get better in the New Year.

When I was working in Manchester back in 2020/2001, I used to live on Queens Road, just down the road from Heaton Park

Have you looked on Drone Scene?

Quiet a few recommendations for the NW:

Definitely, @Midway, fingers crossed we drop down to T2 next week.

Awesome @preynolds, for me it was a toss up between the Phantom or the Mavic 2 Pro… I went with the Mavic in the end… thought it will be easier to learn/fly at this level of drone for a relative newbie, budget to get all the extra juice for flight time etc and portability to throw in with all my other camera gear. Plus some of the images and videos I’ve seen online look amazing :sunglasses:

Hi martin I go up Huddersfield rd , place called Marsden view

Cheers Neil, I’ll have to check that out in the coming weeks. I’ve been really hampered by the weather at the moment. Fingers crossed for the next few days. You’ll have to share the grid reference for the best :+1:
