Ground & Hand launching

Interesting, thanks for that, Brian, I’ll definitely look into it for sure. :+1:

You do your flying your way, I’ll do mine my way. You tug your forelock at NT managers if you wish, and I may chose to ignore some of their rules as I see fit. I am not going to reply line-by-line refuting your straw man arguments, except to say that if my back garden had an area of 1400Ha, I probably wouldn’t see, and I certainly wouldn’t mind, if you flew your drone in a quiet corner of it.

Whilst you are parroting the NT line, perhaps reflect that their sister organisation in Scotland, which has a very similar remit, has a much more positive attitude towards drones :woman_shrugging:t3:

@Bungee Shame that, Tom. While I sometimes do not totally agree with all the comments and actions, said or suggested by members on this forum, I have enjoyed its benefits immensely. I have learned so much, made many friends from places all over the world, laughed, cried, and educated others over the years of interactions here.

You don’t have to agree with everyone all the time, and a healthy discussion is often had between those who don’t necessarily agree with each other, but hey-ho, I respect your choice. :hugs:

I think people adopt a number of different approaches to their flying, and largely there is room for that. As far as perception of drone operators goes, there’s a world of difference between cheekily taking off from an NT site at the crack of dawn with no one around, and flying in an FRZ without permission for example.

I have flown over NT sites before having taken off from outside the boundary. I probably could have gotten away with taking off from within the boundary, but for the sake of an easy life I choose to err on the side of caution! That being said, I can completely see the viewpoint of those who would just “send it” and worry about any hassle later on.

Hope you do stick around - we’re largely a decent bunch!

Perhaps NT discussions can be taken further at the link above. :hugs:
