I need to move to your town! :

I get all over the place, it’s all about reactions.

Conflict resolution is 90% of my job

Had an old guy approach me yesterday - the first time in a really long time. He asked if I was flying over the marina, which I replied that I was, and he told me I wasn’t allowed to do that. I asked him why he thought that was the case and he said something about being 50m or 150m away from property. I said that the rules had changed and with a very small drone, what I was doing was within the law. He kind of nodded and wandered off.

Things like this don’t help:

“You must not fly within 50 metres of people, vehicles, buildings or vessels”

Doesn’t help that that’s probably what they still train their constables either if they still have it up on the website.

The page has the ability to provide feedback, so I have, informing them they are out of date.

I was about to say the same, I think we need to spam them with comments, I will be as I live in their force area.

I did as well and referred them to this as a much better and up-to-date explanation of the regulations:

It is more than likely on Facebook, with a warning saying “Someone is flying a drone around! Tried hitting me and my wife”

I too submitted my feed back.

Just politely point out they could be causing a confrontation for a pilot flying legally.
Make your comments informative, not derogatory and let’s and try and educate people.

For me that really all depends on how I’m approached. Come at me in a confrontational and dictatorial manner and you’ll get either one of two responses. Either completely and utterly ignored or both barrels (after being informed of the law) Conversley, if you’re polite with be I’m the personification of politeness back

Also, some people automatically see education as patronising and defence mode kicks in.

A smack in the mouth might offend but it will educate if delivered correctly!!

This was mainly in response to spam the police.

Oh wow, I just looked and it looks to be better than most.

Even includes details on the specific category which usually isn’t included on pages like that.

Doesn’t discuss typical rules for Article 16 operational authorisation in the specific category though.

I watch the audits on Utube all the time and most Police are well mannered and courteous but some are ill mannered Robocop tattooed power crazed morons that really should not be representing the Police force as they give decent Police a bad Name,we need the Police or it would be Dodge City across the UK.
Watch the auditor Kolee…Bit of a laugh.
Look for the audit where he gets arrested then released for holding an XBOX controller in his hand.He was not flying a Drone.
