Still Learning. Learned that if you power off your mini 2 without stopping the recording it corrupts your super brave, low level, sports mode shot!! Gutted!

Try putting the card back in the drone, powering everything up, use the DJI app to download the full res version to your device, and then copy that to your computer. (This method has worked for others in the past.)

I tried that! 
on the bright side I now have to go back and try again! Thanks for the advice though.

Any camera would do the same surely?
If you were to pull the battery with it recording yes, but to power of normally, they usually auto close the recording.
