Heewing hunter h1 wing build

I have offiically begun my first build!

I got the pnp heewing hunter h1, im gunna put a holybro kakute wing inside it because it’s a leftover from a failed ZOHD, any chance there is a local in and around the liverpool (not too far from gery arrow perhaps) area willing to go over some checks and tuning with me?

So at the moment what I have planned is a 3S setup with ZEE batteries, 1500 mah. The stock ESC is only good for 2s so im putting it aside. I bought 2 Favourite Swallow 60A ESC with 5V 5A BEC (2-6S) off Hobby RC

i plan to keep mostly everything stock, the onyl thing im intending to add is a walksnial unit and the new ESCs. Is there anything i might be missing?

Motors: Dual 1504 Brushless
ESC: 10A 2-in-1 (changed)
Servos: 3x 4.3g
Propeller: FX-3830

This is the holybro kakute, the board of choice for this. I soldered everything in (terrible but it’s soldered) and the esc makes a noise. The motor however does not power on. It doesn’t twitch, it doesn’t spin. I’m certain I wired this properly. I’ve used both pads to make sure I didn’t burn smth, (back seems clean). This is before touching inav.

Circled in the diagram is my exact ports soldered.

You would need to configure this for your motor as you are using motor tab 2 you will also need to set the direction
I’ve never used inav but others here will have

Have you got a smoke stopper?

Can you post a picture of the soldering

So I’d need to go through inav first then. Got it

Oh Lord I haven’t soldered in ages :joy: this is gunna be really really bad. I sincerely apologize in advance

No I don’t have a smoke stopper. Also, ignoring my atrocious soldering skills, I did do this on a speedybee which didn’t require soldering of the signal and ground from the esc. It still didn’t work. I’m guessing I did smth wrong

Hey Charles do you live close to derby??? As would be happy to help..

Can you take a clear picture of the soldering and a little closer

yeah not too too far away, I could make a trip down whenever you’re able to help out

so as it turns out, i did burn out one board, i don’t know how but i’ve restarted soldering on a new one and it’s goiing much better, i definelty need to do some resoldering but it’s all now to a point where it can spin up in inav, just not without.which is the next step. after resoldering

Ok well sounds like you’re making progress, if you need help let me know :+1:t3:

re your soldering, some tips for you,

biggest tip Number 1, Use leaded solder and throw away any lead free solder you might have.

Tip Number 2, Flux is your best friend and most faithful ally.

Tip Number 3, Always tin both wire and pad before bringing them together.

Follow those 3 tips and you should be golden. :+1:t2:
