Hi from Bradford

Newbie here and hoping to learn a thing or two about droning (is that a word?)
‘Anyhow’ Just purchased my first drone, a Mini 2 and done my first long flight of 12 mins  and my nerves were shattered, will hopefully get better with more flight time…Ohh did anyone else get scared when they hit RTH and the thing disappeared, it was only a mere 50mtrs away, and for a few panicky seconds thought it had gone forever before realising it had shot up to it’s preset RTH height before coming back down…Phew, a threepenny bit half crown moment.

First ones the hardest. I was the same straight up, straight down. Almost into a tree.

After that you’ll be flying every where.

Great members here too, all very helpful.

Enjoy your mini

Hello @Jacal, not long had my Mini 2 myself, I got it last week. Not had chance for an outdoor flight yet but most likely be like yours, just hope I don’t stuff it into a tree or something…

I’m near LBA and have been most of my 40 years except for a 4 year stint living in Birkenshaw. So far I’ve asked some pretty silly/obvious questions and the guys on here have been nice enough to answer and not take the proverbial!

Hiya Jacal yeah, so true. Tap the map in the lower left corner to get some idea where your drone is.

Welcome to GADC Jack :+1: :+1: :+1:

:joy: :joy: :joy: - I think almost all of us have been there at some time or other :+1: :+1: :+1:

I found watching loads of YouTube videos helped me

Thanks for the welcome Pavster :+1: Seeing as you’ve said some nice words to me I’ll not mention the expansion at LBA
The first flight i’ve done…if you can call it that…I sent it up and away for 50ish mtrs, hit the return button, farted when it disappeared and said a prayer when it came back!
After that…it can only get better :grinning:

Good luck with your first flight and let’s know how you get on.
Thanks again for the kind words.

Cheers Pezza.
I’ve watched a few and although some are very informative, everything went out of my head as soon as it toke off :open_mouth:
I do find that watching YouTube ‘although’ entertaining, they all seem to be pushing something or t’other to get up the subscribers and hopefully get some form of sponsorship, or items sent to review. What sets out to be a hobby soon gets commercialised and looses it’s independence…Yep, call me Mr cynical
