Hi from confused.com in Blackpool

Not sure exactly what I’m doing here but I’m sure someone will point me in the right direction. Just contemplating buying an DJI Mini 4, or $ Pro

Hey Mike and welcome to the fold.

Got to say, I love my Mini 4 Pro - can’t praise it enough and it really is an ideal drone if you’re just starting out :+1:

Hi Mike, welcome from Morecambe.
Go on buy it. You’ll love it.

DJI Mini 3 Pro or DJI Mini 4? Or rumour has it DJI are about to release the Mini 5 ?

The time has come the walrus said to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax and cabbages and kings!

Hi from sunny Blackpool.

Ok boys and Girls after much research and deliberation my new DJI Mini Pro 4 is ordered and on its way. I will probably need to set aside approx £30,000 for crash damage but hey ho its all part of lifes rich tapestry.

There has to be less stressful hobbies out there like sky diving but I just want to fly a drone?

Been doing it since June last year, and had one or two pretty stressful experiences, but also a lot of fun and some cracking images. Grey Arrows PL insurance is a massive confidence booster and I found Coverdrone very reasonable for insuring the actual drone. DJI’s ‘Fly More’ warranty package is not expensive either; I don’t like these sorts of extended warranty dealies as a rule but I am assured this one is very good. You won’t need to set aside £30 for crash damage!

Enjoy flying your drone when it arrives. There are restriction zones for Blackpool and Warton airports near you, which affect basically the southern half of the town and the beach, though you can fly there with permission from the control towers. You may find the beach a bit windy a lot of the time, it’s pretty exposed (and not just this weekend for Storm Eowyn!). I’d suggest a quiet open space in the northern part of the area for your first practice flights; give yourself plenty of room to get the feel of the thing.

You’ll find this forum to be friendly and inclusive, and an invaluable source of information, advice, and help, as well as the banter being of a pretty high quality! It’s not all that stressful; unintuitively perhaps, I’ve found that it requires total concentration and focus, which means paradoxically that you are distracted absolutely from whatever everyday problems and issues you might have. it is therefore very relaxing most of the time!

We have DJI mini 3 pro’s. Not had a 4 but heard they are good. Keep an eye out fkr the 5… could be worth hanging on for it.

Why is it that things never charge quickly when you want them to? New drone delivered and was desperate to get in a test flight before the storm hits Blackpool.

So far RC/2 still charging and battery bank still on battery one three lights. I don’t know about flying being stressful but watching these things charge sure is!

On the Fylde essentially anything North of Central Pier is fair game

I’m trying but these batteries need a lot of charge. I just see a bank of green flashing lights

You need fast charger 30w or more

One of these you can fast charge in the hub and at the same time fast charge a battery in the drone

Thank you for the advice and link but I think the term “Too Late” fits the bill. I had already ordered the Anker 100w charging plug from Amazon when I read your message. All I need now is for the wind to drop below 80mph and I’m good to go… I think?

Only 30K? If you’re not crashing, you’re not trying hard enough!

Welcome from the Black Country mate

Must admit I was tempted to fly today with the wind still at 35mph but decided to have a beer instead. That must have saved me £500? :joy:
