Hi From Lanarkshire

I joined the BMFA, they have clear and concise guides for drones and rc aircraft and work close with the CAA . If you do their competency test you get better ’ allowances ’ wrt proximity to stuff and people as they are a recognised organisation with insurance cover too.

You can’t fly over roads neither and that’s not good when you live in a country that has roads criss-crossing it and more being build all the time.

No need for a test, OA16 is available to all members

Agreed, but if you don’t have an BMFA achievement cert for one of their disciplines , eg, if one is still training for one, then doing their competency test is more appropriate that the CAA test.

Good luck with the MA2, enjoy it now and the regs will get sorted from where they are now by 2023.

Thank you for all your suggestions, links and encouragement.

The MA2 was sent back to DJI Netherlands as of yesterday.
I’ll hold off until whoever gets their acts together and the models come with the newer CE Classification 0-4.

You might be waiting until 2023 :grimacing:

(nobody is working on these models yet)

Thats OK. I’d rather wait than spend a Grand + for something that’s going to be in the most restrictive category in 23 months time.
