New to the forum, been flying fpv freestyle quads on and off (mostly off) for the past 4 years or so - still a terrible pilot.
Not a native from Oxford so finding spots is particularly hard for me so please do reach out if you know some or wanna share and hangout (2 meters away, because you know, covid)!

There is loads of countryside around Oxford that is great for flying. Have a look for quiet roads with laybys or footpaths that you can fly from. Oxford itself is tricky as you can’t use the parks or uni parks for take off or landing. Maybe Boars Hill just outside Oxford. Has footpaths you can launch from and parking, might give good views of Oxford too.
I’ve been to Boars Hill a few times, never ventured much further than ree entrance but never got into trouble there.
How would I know if I can fly off a footpath or a layby? Just give it a go and hope no one minds? Lol

I’m in Oxford too. Seems a bit restrictive, but hopefully I can perfect my hand launch and landing and then fly my Mini2 over a park or two.
What drone do you have?
I built my own, I fly a freestyle drone so flying over parks is probably not for me lol
My setup: Skitzo Nova frame, Emax ECO 2207 motors, Matek F405 fc and 35A Racerstar escs.
